Key Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, blasting, masking, and applying fillers as needed.
• Mix and apply paints, primers, and coatings using spray guns and other application methods.
• Apply industrial coatings to metal parts and fully assembled heavy equipment.
• Inspect finished surfaces to ensure proper coverage, thickness, and quality standards.
• Maintain paint equipment, booths, and tools in safe working condition.
• Follow all safety procedures related to hazardous materials and ventilation systems.
• Read and interpret work orders, technical drawings, and coating specifications.
• Perform touch-ups and rework as necessary.
• Track materials usage and maintain accurate production records.
• Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams to meet production deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED (required).
• 2+ years of experience in industrial or automotive painting (heavy equipment experience preferred).
• Knowledge of surface preparation, coating applications, and finishing techniques.
• Ability to use spray painting equipment and related tools.
• Basic understanding of OSHA safety standards and hazardous material handling.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience painting heavy-duty trucks or construction equipment.
• Familiarity with epoxy, urethane, and powder coating systems.
• Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds regularly; occasional lifting of heavier items with assistance or equipment.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights using ladders or platforms.
• Manual dexterity to operate spray guns and hand tools.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, coveralls, gloves, and eye protection.
• Tolerance for exposure to paint fumes, dust, noise, and varying temperatures in a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

• Industrial manufacturing setting with exposure to loud noise, moving machinery, and airborne particulates.
• Work is done in paint booths and on the production floor.
• Must adhere to all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
