Painter - 2nd Shift (Transformers)

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is seeking a Painter to join the Transformers Line team on 2nd shift at our Waukesha (Badger Drive), WI facility.

About the role

The Painter is responsible for sanding, cleaning, masking, and painting transformer units and fabricated components to produce an eye-pleasing, durable, finished product. All units must be painted before final inspection.

Responsibilities

• Properly prepare all surfaces to be sprayed, including bare metal areas and previously painted surfaces.
• Check Bills of Material for correct color and specified mil thickness.
• Adjust and periodically check pump pressures, heater temperatures, air and fluid pressures to maintain optimal spraying conditions.
• Change filters and maintain cleanliness of spray booth and associated floor areas on a scheduled basis.
• Use crane to move units into spray booth and store repainted units in staging area for inspection.
• Cross-train and perform duties in other work areas of the team.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of six (6) months previous spray-painting experience.
• Minimum of six (6) months previous manufacturing experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• Must currently reside within 50 miles of the Waukesha, WI facility (Active Duty Military Service member candidates exempt from geographical limitation).
• Ability to work overtime when required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, and use both hands to lift and lower materials.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous working knowledge of industrial airless and/or air pressure painting.

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $26.20 per hour, plus a $2.50/hour shift premium for 2nd shift. Overtime opportunities are available and may be mandatory at times.

Sign-on bonus of $2,000* paid in two installments, less applicable withholding (applications must be submitted on or after January 1, 2024 to qualify; additional terms and conditions apply).

Schedule

2nd shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM.
