Paint Technician (Monday-Thursday; 9:30 am - 8:00 pm)
About the role
Wipaire is an aviation industry leader that converts existing airplanes into sea planes. This position involves preparing aircraft, aircraft parts, modifications, and float assemblies according to Wipaire Paint Process procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepares aircraft, aircraft parts, modifications, and float assemblies following Wipaire Paint Process procedures.
- Performs paint process tasks in accordance with FAA requirements and Wipaire Paint Process guidelines.
- Complies with Wipaire Paint Process to meet quality standards and applicable FAA regulations.
- Fulfills tool and equipment usage as per company procedures and manufacturer's instructions.
- Utilizes sealants, paint strippers, and corrosion-preventive chemicals as part of the painting process.
- Wears protective equipment and adheres to safety rules, including OSHA regulations and SDS sheet readings.
- Utilizes Wipaire's computer system to manage parts demand, track orders, and document work.
- Accurately documents hours worked in required time tracking systems.
Requirements
- Two-year Trade School or Vocational Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- HVLP or pressure pot spraying experience strongly preferred.
- One to three years of autobody or similar industry experience preferred.
- Able to learn and understand paint processes, products, and compliance requirements.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office and Internet.
- Able to learn and utilize all available Wipaire software packages.
- Works effectively as a team player, exhibits flexibility, and maintains a positive attitude.
- Capable of performing tasks involving kneeling, bending, squatting, reaching, and leaning for extended periods.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders while performing painting on aircraft.
- Must have all required tools within 90 days of starting employment.
- Complies with drug testing requirements and passes an annual physical, including a respirator fit test.
Qualifications
Education, experience, and credentials are important for this role. A two-year Trade School or Vocational Degree, or equivalent work experience, is preferred. Strong preference is given to HVLP or pressure pot spraying experience and one to three years of autobody or similar industry experience. Basic computer skills and proficiency with Wipaire's software packages are also essential.
Skills
- Knowledge of paint processes and products (lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics).
- Understanding of FAA processes, including repair processes, drawings, and compliance requirements.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office and Internet.
- Ability to learn and utilize all available Wipaire software packages.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $23.54 - $40.87 per hour, with an additional 7% shift differential.
Schedule
This position operates Monday through Thursday from 9:30 am to 8:00 pm.
