Paint Technician

Responsibilities
- Prepare workplace for manual activities
- Retrieve any materials, documents, tools, or supplies necessary to perform the job function and keep stock levels within the min-max range
- Keep area organized and proper 5S in place
- Seal interior and exterior seams
- Spray or lay out PVC protection and sika, taking into account the required surface quality on the visible parts of the shell
- Polish and buff parts and bodies according to correct methods and materials, and clean polishing residue
- Thoroughly inspect finished job and make any additional repairs before releasing
- Perform visual inspection for completeness and proper execution of standard, document if necessary
- Perform sanding operations
- Fix minor issues with paint tools/equipment (such as through filter cleaning, changing of nozzles)
- Disassemble, clean, reassemble and check functionality of tools and equipment e.g. nozzles, lances, pistols, bells/injectors
- Assist employees with less experience or qualifications in training
- 100% inspection of all parts and van bodies; record defects into the quality reporting system
- Follow instructions and given scheme
- Follow all safety instructions
- Participate in the Continuous Improvement Program
- Receive guidance by team leader or more Senior Team Member
- Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Required: 2+ years of relevant manufacturing experience; OR Relevant certificate and 1+ years of relevant experience
- Preferred: 3+ years of relevant experience; OR Relevant certificate and 2+ years of relevant experience
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job
- Basic craftsmanship and technical understanding
- Basic hand/power tool familiarity
- Experience using buffers/sanders on automotive paint preferred
- Experience in automotive paint environment preferred
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as required
