Paint Technician - 1099
About the role
This position is open to candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent, and 0-6 years of paint experience in aviation, auto, RV, Marine or related fields. Responsibilities
- Masking and taping aircraft parts to avoid overspray
- Sanding primer
- Blowing and cleaning aircraft with thinner
- Washing the paint booth
- Applying all layers of paint to include top coat
- Laying out stripe and design schemes
- Prep and scuff paint to get ready for trim
- Lay down and remove masking
- Detail work
- Inspect completed paint jobs
- Paint mixing and paint matching
- Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management
Requirements
Must have a valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport. Must pass a pulmonary physical and a respiratory fit test. Must have reliable transportation and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must work standing on ladders or scaffolds. Must work in a fast-paced environment and follow all company and safety rules.
Qualifications

Skills
Self-motivated, flexible, and good with working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work under specific deadlines and time constraints. Strong communication skills. Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration guidelines. Ability to perform tasks such as painting, painting base coat, and layout.
