Paint Specialist
About the role
Build and maintain relationships with PBE customers to drive consistent and profitable sales growth. Lookup and mix custom OEM colors, provide technical assistance, and use PBE sales tools to deliver high-level service.
Responsibilities
- Develop strong relationships with PBE customers, both retail and professional.
- Offer color matching expertise and paint product selection advice.
- Identify OEM paint codes, enter formulas on the formula retrieval computer, and mix and tint paint according to manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain the mixing room, scale(s), mixing machine(s), and paint counter, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- Manage PBE inventory, including checking in and putting up stock, completing monthly cycle counts, and adding new products and removing dead inventory with the Store Manager.
- Implement a weekly call schedule and call summary for review by the Store Manager, and submit monthly reports to the District Manager.
- Work with Installer Service Specialists to coordinate and route Delivery Specialists for efficient service.
- Promote company customer service programs and assist in gathering information for labor claims or PBE warranties.
- Keep up-to-date with PBE industry news, processes, and products, including EPA & OSHA regulations and compliance.
- Promote current PBE sales tools to customers and assist in ensuring professional customers have correct pricing.
- Provide superior service to professional PBE customers through teamwork with Territory Sales Managers.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
- Outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).
Skills
- Automotive paint and body knowledge or experience.
- Technical schooling.
