About the role
The Paint Specialist performs preparation of metal parts and components for the application of paint, fillers, and/or finishes to enhance and protect the product for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare metal parts and components by applying fillers/bondo to ensure a flat surface for the paint process.
- Work with wet paint to ensure proper paint coverage, meeting customer requirements for color and texture.
- Interpret blueprints, Process Flow Instructions, and other written or verbal instructions to move the product through the paint process.
- Accurately report shop floor production data to Process or Team-Lead for input to computer terminal and/or written reporting.
- Follow visual and written work instructions to complete assigned tasks within set timeframes, meeting production requirements.
- Maintain quality and productivity standards.
- Maintain equipment, including daily cleaning, to uphold good housekeeping and adhere to plant regulations and safety rules.
- Support other projects and perform duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience as an industrial painter in a manufacturing environment or experience in construction performing drywalling functions.
- Experience with respirator requirements and utilizing hand and power tools.
- Ability to read blueprints preferred.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime when necessary.
- Consistent work history with good attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check (7 years).
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Safety glasses and steel-toe shoes are required.
