Paint Prep Technician

Westmor Industries is seeking a detail-oriented Paint Prep Technician to support our production team. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality finishes and maintaining the efficiency of our paint operations.

Responsibilities

• Surface Preparation
  • Sand surfaces using an air sander
  • Apply sand poly and primer
  • Verify removal of spatter and slag
  • Apply filler to achieve a smooth, paint-ready finish
• Measurement & Documentation
  • Measure pre- and post-sand dry mill thickness
  • Record measurements using proper devices
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately
• Equipment Maintenance
  • Perform daily maintenance on paint prep equipment
  • Clean paint booths and lights
  • Change filters as needed
  • Keep the paint prep area organized and production-ready
• Safety & Operation
  • Identify and mask areas not designated for paint
  • Safely operate tuggers, lifts, and other machinery
  • Wear proper PPE and follow all safety procedures
• Coordination & Organization
  • Coordinate workflow with team members
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and efficient work area

Pay

The starting pay range for this position is $18 - $22 per hour. Final compensation will depend on various factors including: skills, experience, and location.

Schedule

Day Shift: 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, Mon - Fri
