Paint Prep Operator

Position Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Six months to one-year related paint experience preferred
• Computer proficiency in MS Office
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be a “US Person” (i.e. US Citizen or Permanent Resident)

Essential Duties

• Follow Lean Manufacturing and 5s practices
• Visually inspect parts prior to painting to identify failures and damage
• Report all parts that appear damaged or incorrectly processed to Paint Shop Supervisor
• Ensure parts to be painted are clear of dirt or foreign material, and clean them if necessary
• Review work orders for missed processes and fill out/maintain paperwork
• Prepare parts using tools such as sandpaper, electric sander, etc. to achieve finish look of BB callout
• Maintain knowledge of current specifications and call outs
• Touching up and/or masking and unmasking of parts
• Follow hazardous chemical and waste handling procedures
• Wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) properly
• Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others
• Maintain safe working practices and ensure area is clean and free of any possible unsafe situations
• Follow all established Vaupell policies, standard operating procedures and safety practices
• Other duties as assigned
