Paint Operator

Position Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Paints surfaces of aircraft parts applying knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques, using spray-painting equipment, power tools, and work aids.
• Strips, sands, masks, and repaints surfaces, and manually blends finish matching surrounding areas.
• Regulates controls on equipment to cure and dry paint or other coatings.
• Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by cleaning paint booth area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Records types and amounts of paints used for environmental regulation reporting.
• Records completion of painting operations on planning documents.

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency and functional knowledge with applications and activities including (but not limited to): Basic data entry into manufacturing software system.
• Ability to read and write the English language.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
