About the role

Maintenance position supporting production of automotive parts with a focus on injection molding equipment. Requires strong troubleshooting abilities and PLC experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance in support of production of automotive parts
  • Read and accurately interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical specifications
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and test equipment using actual parts and schematics
  • Apply hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical knowledge to repair equipment
  • Build and repair equipment to support production
  • Operate all manual tool room equipment
  • Set up equipment according to requirements, materials, tolerances, and machine capabilities
  • Verify quality by measuring results using precision instruments on products, equipment, and tools
  • Repair jigs, fixtures, and custom machine components
  • Perform maintenance and modification of existing equipment
  • Utilize computerized central stores system to maintain proper parts inventory for machine downtime issues
  • Coordinate and plan preventative and predictive maintenance with production to minimize downtime
  • Establish and maintain relationships with qualified suppliers and vendors
  • Identify tasks and prepare appropriate responses or actions for successful completion
  • Solve problems and implement resolutions to meet business efficiency plans
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following standards and procedures

Qualifications

  • Solid experience in maintenance
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • Strong analytical and math skills (English and Metric systems)
  • Good English language skills
  • Effective interpersonal, group leadership, and training skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to perform essential job tasks with minimal supervision or outside assistance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Flexible for shift rotation and able to work overtime
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and dependable transportation

Skills

  • PLC experience (required)
  • Injection molding experience
  • Robotics experience
  • Hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
  • Blueprint and schematic interpretation
  • Precision measurement and quality verification

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of knowledge and functional role in manufacturing with plastics
  • Previous injection molding equipment experience for assessment, diagnosis, and efficient repair
  • Ability to develop and report detailed information and abnormalities to improve operations

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more at any given time throughout the day
  • Stooping, bending, and crouching throughout the day
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Climbing on ladders, platforms, or mezzanine throughout the day
