About the role

The Paint Lead is responsible for applying industrial paint finishes on metals or manufactured products. You will mix paints and other solutions, monitor drying and quality to ensure desired results. Overall, the paint lead plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of painting projects by overseeing all aspects of the painting process, from planning and coordination to execution and quality control.

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Operation: Operating HVLP, Airless, Powder Gun, and brush n roll, to apply industrial paint finishes on metals or manufactured products.
  • Material Preparation: Mixing paints and other solutions.
  • Quality & Curing: Monitoring curing to ensure desired results.
  • Surface Finishing: Completing finishing with baking, polishing or other materials.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensuring that all painting activities comply with safety regulations and company policies is a crucial aspect of the job. This includes providing safety training to painting crews, implementing safety protocols, and conducting regular safety inspections.
  • Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate the activities of painting teams, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect work in progress and finished projects to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. This may involve assessing surface preparation, paint application techniques, and color matching.
  • Resource Management: Responsible for managing resources such as paint supplies, equipment, and manpower efficiently. May be involved in ordering materials, scheduling equipment maintenance, and allocating manpower as needed.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: When issues arise during painting projects, such as adhesion problems, color discrepancies, or equipment malfunctions, the Paint Lead is responsible for identifying the root cause of the problem and implementing effective solutions.
  • Records & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project activities, including work orders, material usage, and labor hours. May also prepare reports on project progress, quality, and any issues encountered during the painting process.
  • Leadership & Training: Provide leadership, guidance, and training to painting crews, helping them develop their skills and achieve high levels of performance. This may involve conducting performance evaluations, providing feedback, and identifying opportunities for skills development.

Requirements

  • Education Level: High school diploma or GED.
  • Professional Experience: 3-10 years of general work experience.
  • Core Competencies: Strong organizational/follow-up skills; attention to detail.
  • Physical Demands (Lifting): Requires lift, lower, push and pull all sizes of merchandise up to 50 lbs.
  • Physical Demands (Stamina): Requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily.
  • Physical Demands (Mobility): Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.
  • Detail Orientation: Must be detail oriented.
  • Team Collaboration: Must be a team player willing to take on additional roles as needed.
  • Professional Demeanor: Must maintain good moral.
  • Adaptability: Adaptable and flexible to production schedule.
  • Growth Mindset: Have a good attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Compliance & Screening: All job offers are contingent upon receiving a negative drug/alcohol test. This position is subject to random drug testing. Willing to take background check.

Pay

Compensation will be paid in the range of $32 - $37/HR + bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
