Paint Department Lead

About the Role

Steward Machine Company, a multi-generation family-owned business with over 100 years of success, is seeking a dedicated 2nd Shift Paint Department Lead for its Bainbridge, Georgia facility. The facility features more than 290,000 square feet of manufacturing space and houses some of the largest equipment in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the 2nd shift paint department team to ensure efficient and high-quality operations.
• Oversee daily production activities, including painting processes, equipment maintenance, and workflow management.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards in all painting operations.
• Coordinate with other departments to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to foster a productive and collaborative work environment.
• Troubleshoot issues related to paint application, equipment, or workflow to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, and department performance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a leadership role within a paint or manufacturing department.
• Strong knowledge of paint application techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
