We are looking for an experienced engineer to join our Writing Systems Team within the Customer Assurance Organization. The role focuses on supporting released products (inks, printheads, press platforms) through customer escalations and qualifications, with a strong emphasis on mechanical subsystems such as paper path (tension control, rollers, print bars) and technical troubleshooting methods like fast Fourier transforms. This position includes significant customer-facing activities, collaborating with HP services and R&D teams to enable and demonstrate applications on HP PageWide Web Presses.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate inkjet press system settings, designs, and provide solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Support customers and service teams in achieving desired image quality, solving complex interactions between Productivity-Image Quality-Durability and Cost per print.
  • Document and communicate optimal settings and end-to-end configurations for customer applications and development.
  • Perform qualifications related to changes in ink, printhead, press hardware, and software features.
  • Support customer assurance programs during transition from R&D through wide customer adoption.
  • Assess field presses during upgrades and installs for paper path and tension trends affecting press productivity, runnability, and image quality.
  • Stay familiar with the latest features, software releases, and hotfixes to ensure presses deliver optimal performance.
  • Capture feedback and learnings from the field for communication across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering fields.
  • More than 4 years of experience working with Digital Printing technology; experience in Packaging and Commercial presses is preferred.
  • Desired experience interacting with customers.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving experience.

  • Strong customer focus with a desire to understand and solve customer needs.
  • Detail-oriented with a proven ability to use data and analytical methods to investigate and solve issues.
  • Ability to collaborate across the broader organization, including local and remote R&D and Services teams.
  • Highly motivated to tackle technical and business challenges, balancing both aspects for optimized solutions.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $93,400 to $143,800 USD annually, with additional opportunities for bonus and/or equity (applies to United States candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
