About the role
Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Pads Transformer Assembler - 2nd Shift at our Nacogdoches, TX facility. The core hours are Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. The hourly rate for this position is $18.00 per hour, plus a $1.35 shift differential per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Responsibilities
- Assembles operations for electricity transformers in accordance with established standard methods and procedures.
- Performs tasks across various work centers, including tank breakdown, casing, small parts, vacuum chamber, palletizing, final assembly, and testing.
- Attaches and installs component parts and sub-assemblies onto transformer tanks (e.g., leads, bushings, brackets, fuses, switches, nameplates, arrestors, labels, stencils, bands).
- Loads, operates, and unloads the vacuum system.
- Places and anchors core/coil assemblies into tanks.
- Executes repetitive hand assembly, fitting, and adjustment operations.
- Uses small power hand tools as required.
- Assists welders with the installation of hoods and seals.
- Addresses any nonconforming parts or products through rework.
- Safely operates overhead cranes and hoisting equipment to move materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility.
- Actively participates in problem-solving processes, contributing to efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement within the organization.
- Achieves and maintains target production rates or output levels, ensuring efficient operations and meeting organizational goals.
- Adheres to safety protocols, ensures efficient material handling, housekeeping practices (5S+), and company policies and procedures.
- Performs other manufacturing duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.
- Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the Nacogdoches, TX facility will be considered.
- Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Manufacturing and assembly experience preferred.

- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions as required.
- Ability to operate industrial equipment and hand tools.
- Lift up to 40 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, grabbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and using both hands to lift and lower materials, with or without accommodations.
- Ability to work efficiently in hot environments and tolerate loud noises.
