Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Administer PACU care, monitor vitals, and manage post-anesthesia recovery per protocol.
- Escalate clinically significant findings promptly to the surgeon and anesthesiology team.
- Assess, document, and communicate patient status to OR and surgical team.
- Ensure patient safety by adhering to infection control and safety standards.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and patient flow metrics.
- Document all clinical actions accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Administer medications and analgesia per orders while monitoring for adverse effects.
- Engage in continuous learning to meet growth and merit-based advancement goals.
- Collaborate with team to optimize turnover times and improve throughput.
- Prepare PACU for next patient; restock supplies and ensure equipment readiness.
- Provide patient and family education on post-anesthesia care and discharge instructions.
- Maintain on-site presence and accountability for personal performance in a results-driven environment.
Qualifications
- Current RN license and active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- PACU recovery knowledge with post-anesthesia care protocols and vitals monitoring.
- Ability to escalate findings to surgeon and anesthesia team promptly.
- Accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) for all actions.
- Medication administration and analgesia management with adverse event vigilance.
- Infection control adherence and patient safety standards in PACU.
- Strong collaboration to optimize turnover times and throughput.
- KPIs and patient flow metrics tracking; data-driven performance improvement.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- On-site presence with personal accountability in a results-driven environment.
