PACU/ Post-Op Registered Nurse PRNs are an integral part of the surgical team, providing essential nursing care to patients during surgical cases. Their role requires a high level of accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced surgical environment. PACU/ Post-Op Registered Nurse PRNs are responsible for ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care during surgery. Their ability to maintain a professional approach while providing nursing care is critical in ensuring positive patient outcomes while keeping patients and their families informed. Will work directly with surgeons, medical/surgical staff and post-acute caregivers to create comprehensive patient care from pre- to post-op.

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team that would work with patients after orthopedic surgery prior to discharge. The ideal candidate for this position will be a highly motivated, fast-learning professional who is able to multi-task effectively and maintain a good attitude and patience. A typical day would include caring for 3-4 post-op patients per shift. Primary duties would be education for patient and family prior to discharge as well as assessing that patient is safe to discharge home. You will not take call. You will not work weekends or holidays. Hours may vary from time to time, based on patient needs for the day. Typically, hours are 8-6:30pm. At times shifts may run later depending on when patients are ready to discharge.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
  • Active RN license in the state.
  • ACLS Required
  • Able to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
  • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet needs of patients and unit.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
