PACU Manager

Job Summary

The Nurse Manager is a working manager responsible for day-to-day operations of the PACU. Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the planning, directing, and controlling of staffing assignments to ensure effective coverage of the department.
• Maintaining productivity targets and reviewing and approving personnel performance appraisals including the establishment of goals for each employee.
• Regularly reviewing and revising departmental manuals, policies/procedures, and appropriate standing orders and protocols, with appropriate input.
• Observing the condition of facilities and taking corrective action to solve existing or potential problems.
• Participating in Process Improvement activities.
• Supporting management decisions by acting as a change agent through role modeling.
• Maintaining current professional growth through independent study and continuing education programs.
• Participating in budget and inventory control.
• Participating in staff and self-development.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• Basic Cardiac Life Support
• Registered Nurse
• Bachelor's Degree
• Two years' experience in a supervisory/charge nurse position in Surgery/Day Surgery
