Responsibilities
- Maintains and supports the day-to-day operation of Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), Clinical Information Systems (CIS), PowerScribe, and related clinical imaging applications.
- Diagnoses and resolves user requests and system issues, escalating problems to senior staff or vendors as needed.
- Supports application and infrastructure upgrades, including patch installations and functional testing under supervision.
- Participates in the on-call support program for after-hours critical issues.
- Assists in integrating radiology systems ensuring connectivity with the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Supports new Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) modality connections and assists in monitoring Health Level Seven (HL7) interfaces.
- Reviews and documents business requirements and processes, communicating technical specifications through conceptual data, process models, and flowcharts.
- Applies best practices and standards in radiology and imaging processes.
- Assists in team projects and completes assigned daily tasks.
- Monitors and reports on performance metrics and system trends.
- Communicates the status of activities, risks, and issues to the Lead.
- Identifies project risks related to compliance and information security.
- Performs duties that may be primarily remote but may require reporting to the office with a 2-hour notice for operational needs or training.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s or advanced clinical degree from an accredited college or university; or
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience gathering and documenting business, clinical, and/or functional requirements for software applications development and implementation in a clinical, allied health, non-allied health, behavioral health, information technology, information services, business, analytics, or related area; or
- One (1) year of experience in a relevant clinical and/or healthcare administration role/function; or
- A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience.
- Specialty certification(s) issued by a national program, state, professional society, or academic institution may be credited toward the required work experience for a total of one (1) year.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience in clinical information systems, as a Radiology PACS administrator, or related technical experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with PACS and other Radiology imaging applications strongly preferred.
- Experience with Change HealthCare (McKesson) Radiology and Conserus Products, Microsoft PowerScribe One, and Epic.
- Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) experience.
- Strong technical, software, and infrastructure experience.
