Packsize Operator Summary of Position
The Packsize Operator is responsible for setting up and operating assigned packaging machines and statistical scales to pack the optimum number of quality packages of product. The most important ability for a packaging machine operator is mechanical skills, such as reading a tape measure. Additionally, it is important that machine operators exhibit physical strength and stamina.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Produces wood cabinetry parts from raw material by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
- Maintains stable work pace.
- Serve as quality control by reporting all deficiencies.
- Operate a Packsize machine and forklift.
- Alternate between operating a Packsize machine and palletizing components for shipping.
- Monitor packaging supplies to ensure an adequate amount is available for the shift.
- Set up equipment as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to measure to 1/16 of an inch on a tape measure.
- Warehouse experience (forklift certification not required).
