Packer- Week Night

About the role

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Packer to join our manufacturing team in Hanover, PA. This role involves inspecting and packing quality products into boxes, cartons, cans, and specialty containers in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect packaged items and alert machine operator or shift supervisor of any defects.
• Inspect package weight and verify code, dates, and price.
• Examine packages for proper seal and report conditions that could lead to contaminated product.
• Pack product into cartons, cans, and specialty containers, then place them onto skids or conveyors.
• Prepare items for production (e.g., cans, labels, trays, rework items).
• Maintain an organized and sanitary work environment following OSHA, FDA, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Lift up to 40 lbs and stand 100% of the time.
• Work proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Basic math and reading skills.
• Knowledge of product quality and production processes.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift.
• Moderate lifting (up to 40 lbs).
