About the role

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Packer to join our manufacturing team at our High Street facility in Hanover, PA. This role involves inspecting and packing quality products into boxes, cartons, cans, and specialty containers in a team-oriented environment while managing an individual station.

Responsibilities

• Inspect packaged items and alert machine operator or shift supervisor of any changes.
• Ensure quality and food safety tasks for the position are completed.
• Move product from packing area to warehouse by pulling jacks filled with product.
• Accurately scan finished product into inventory using scanning equipment.
• Set up mats and cartons for packers before production begins each day.
• Prepare packing area when packaging different products.
• Relieve team members for breaks and lunches.
• Safely maneuver and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Operate the Shrink Wrapper.
• Clean floor and equipment in the packing room weekly, including other sanitation duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Basic math and reading skills.
• Ability to fluently communicate in and read English or Spanish.
• Willingness and ability to stand 100% of the time.
• Knowledge of product quality and production processes.
• Regular lifting of up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and pivot regularly.
• Ability to be trained as a backup lineperson and packer.
• Ability to be trained to use a hand jack.
