About the role

As a member of the team, the main role of the Packer is to support all operations related to the production operations at the site, including adhering to all Good Manufacturing Policies and the Food Safety Program. This position will support in other areas in the plant directly reporting into the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities

• Follows all company and OSHA safety policies, procedures, and programs; is responsible for individual safety and the safety of others.
• Operates all necessary equipment related to mill, production staging, and observe/operate heavy equipment
• Ability to operate a forklift and water truck.
• Performs inspections on mobile equipment.
• Removes finished product from the production line and shrink wraps each pallet with the appropriate bag then adds labels, lot codes, and etc. then stacks in the warehouse or yard area.
• Supplies the production line with pallets, bags and wrapping materials
• Inspects Packaging Materials prior to changeovers to ensure correct inventories for production runs.
• Returns Packaging Materials after completion of production runs, if needed.
• Provide production support by wrapping pallets and ability to use a forklift to move production to the correct storage locations.
