About the role
Assure efficient manufacturing of a quality product that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Primary responsibilities include Perorating Operation, side cutting Operations, and Operator Assisting. Secondary responsibilities include Operator back-up and general production.
Responsibilities
- Operates perforation equipment.
- Inspects finished product quality before performing operations.
- Operates controls for perforation robot cell.
- Maintains robot/perforator operations to specifications.
- Completes operation to specifications.
- Ensures all paperwork is completed to company standards.
- Assembles/stacks rolls per customer/in-house requirements.
- Obtains packaging material to complete order and prepare for shipment.
- Completes quality control procedures including roll unwind, perforation inspection, diameter inspection, perforation centering, and perforation alignment.
- Operates PIT to transport materials.
- Completes all recordkeeping requirements including printing, labeling, stretch-wrapping.
- Uses JD Edwards scanning equipment to log production and record inventory transactions.
- Performs housekeeping duties to maintain work area based on hygiene requirements.
- Ensures all BRC Food Safety Standards are followed.
- Operates Side Cutter.
- Sets up cutter to product specifications.
- Ensures accuracy and maintains quality according to work order specification.
- Completes other operations/responsibilities highlighted above.
- Provides assistance to operator(s) when running particular products.
- Successfully cross-trained to provide fill-in support for extruder and/or pelletizer.
- Performs general duties such as plant housekeeping, clean-up, or other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with extrusion experience preferred.
- Ability to adhere to Amcor’s Safety, Health, and Environmental Vision, Policy, and Standards.
- Ability to read and write to complete required forms and verify quality products are produced.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) which includes safety glasses, safety goggles, hearing protection, steel toe shoes/boots, face shield, gloves, and face mask.
- Ability to handle & resolve problems.
- Ability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, days or nights, for 12 or more hours.
- Ability to stand, sit, kneel, bend, stoop, climb, reach, for extended periods multiple times per day.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Must be punctual; at line on time.
- Must be able to obtain LOTO certification.
- Read a ruler to 1/8”/tape measure and gauge caliper device.
- Basic math skills.
