Packer (2nd Shift)

About the role

The Packer (2nd shift) is responsible for packing boxes of product according to specified numbers per box, visually inspecting the product to ensure good quality, using gages and scales to inspect the product, making labels, ensuring proper labeling, sealing boxes, and preparing pallets for shipping.

Responsibilities

• Pack boxes of product according to specified numbers per box
• Visually inspect the product to assure that a good quality product is shipped
• Use gages and scales to inspect the product
• Make labels and assure proper labeling with correct item, quantity, description, etc.
• Ensure all boxes have been sealed and that the appropriate label has been applied
• Prepare pallets of box product to be sent to shipping

Requirements

• Constant standing and walking (up to 10 hours per day)
• Repetitive use of both hands (up to 10 hours per day)
• Repetitive reaching at and above shoulder level and bending at the waist
• Ability to lift boxes and product weighing up to 50 lbs
• Ability to bend, stoop, and twist
• Ability to utilize a computer
• Ability to read scales and gages
• Ability to detect defects in product
