Bud’s Goods of New Jersey is seeking a Packaging Technician to join our award-winning team in Linden, New Jersey. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM (clock-in as early as 6:45 AM).
About the role
The Packaging Technician packages and labels dried flower, fills and packages pre-rolls, and portions concentrates and oils according to work orders and quotas. This position involves operating sophisticated packaging equipment, including setup, operation, changeover, breakdown, and sanitation. Safety is a priority, with air filtration and personal protective equipment provided.
Responsibilities
- Perform packaging duties for assigned work orders in the packaging lab.
- Coordinate batch inventory and packaging materials with the Packaging Manager.
- Operate high-tech equipment to sort, package, and label dried cannabis flower into pouches and jars.
- Operate equipment to produce, package, and label pre-rolls and other joints.
- Package oils and concentrates using specialized equipment.
- Print and apply labels to packages.
- Case pack units ready for storage and shipment.
- Track and record each step of the process, validating with equipment readings for consistency.
- Attend to units rejected by packaging equipment.
- Set up, change over, and clean sophisticated packaging equipment.
- Break down and change over workstations per sanitation and GMP processes.
- Identify equipment malfunctions and report inconsistencies with package labels.
- Inspect labels for proper format and compliance with state regulations.
- Weigh product accurately using a scale and track numbers.
- Update inventory logs per batch to ensure accurate counts.
- Maintain compliance with state regulations, company policies, and SOPs.
- Keep workstations clean and safe.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in packaging or inventory-related roles.
- High school diploma or GED required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Basic understanding of mechanical packaging equipment.
- Basic math skills and working knowledge of computer functions, including email and Excel.
- Must pass all required background checks.
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry.
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Must be approved as a Registered Agent by the Cannabis Regulatory Commission.
