The Packaging Technician reports to the Manager of Production. The role focuses on packaging products efficiently and compliantly, both manually and using automated equipment, while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.
Responsibilities
- Package flower products accurately and effectively.
- Adhere to production goals and ensure daily targets are met.
- Operate automated equipment to complete packaging tasks.
- Oversee and maintain the quality of products produced daily.
- Report quality issues to management.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work environment.
- Produce accurate and compliant labels for packages when required.
- Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Communicate effectively with Packaging, Kitchen, and other departments.
- Assist with gathering daily production materials and inventory.
- Perform boxing and case packaging of units.
- Cover breaks as needed.
- Understand and operate all required automated equipment.
- Strictly adhere to safety procedures and company policies.
- Read and understand all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to job duties.
Requirements
- 1+ year of relevant work experience.
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Possess a can-do attitude, resourcefulness, and reliability; team-oriented.
- Excellent communication skills for internal collaboration.
- Motivated, flexible, and adaptable with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Over 21 years of age with the ability to obtain an MA agent registration card.
- Ability to meet physical requirements for production and retail environments.
Accountabilities
- Packaging: Ensure products are packaged correctly, efficiently, and in compliance with HHG and CCC standards.
- Quality: Ensure production batches meet quality standards for edibles and packaging; report issues to supervisors.
- Sanitation & Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including equipment and packaging areas.
- Compliance: Monitor and mitigate compliance infractions; notify management of any issues.
- Labeling Accuracy: Ensure all products are labeled correctly (test results, package dates, expiration dates).
- Attendance & Reliability: Adhere to work schedules, break periods, and time clock procedures.
- Cooperation & Commitment: Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and other departments; accept job assignments willingly.
- Communication: Report issues in a timely manner and follow proper communication channels.
- Conduct: Follow company policies, procedures, and work conduct rules.
- Productivity: Package a minimum of 350 units per shift; failure to meet this goal 3 times in a month may result in disciplinary action.
Schedule
This is a full-time position and may require overtime.
