Packaging Tech II
About the role
Shift is a swing shift position: 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Prior experience in a cGMP related industry is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Works on assignments that are basic to routine in nature where the ability to recognize deviation from accepted or usual practices is required.
- Works on basic to routine assignments following written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Master Batch Records and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
- Works in conjunction with other Packaging Technicians under the guidance of a Group/Team Leader and the Packaging Manager.
- Assists in the inspection of Gilead products, Clinical Trial Material, and components.
- Assists in the packaging of Gilead products and Clinical Trial Material.
- Sets up and operates Packaging line equipment including vial labeler, vial label laser, and carton laser.
- Prepares cleaning solutions and cleans packaging areas, including walls, ceilings, floors, and equipment.
- Complies with all safety-related procedures and practices personally and in area.
- Sets up check-weighing of multi-unit cartons.
- Performs basic ERP/MES transactions.
- Receives well-defined instructions on routine work, and detailed instructions on new assignments.
- Reports variance or deviation from standard procedures to department management.
- Takes variant action only with approval of department management.
Requirements
Demonstrates familiarity with written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Master Batch Records.
Demonstrates sufficient verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to communicate basic information to peers and team lead.
Demonstrates working knowledge in Microsoft Office applications and administrative policies.
Demonstrates ability to follow direction and work with only moderate supervision.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience OR
- High School Diploma with at least 2 years of relevant experience
Skills

Demonstrates sufficient verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to communicate basic information to peers and team lead.

Benefits
The salary range for this position is: $55,930.00 - $72,380.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
