Packaging Production Designer

Our client's Services Experience Design team is looking for a Senior Packaging Production Designer to join the team on a contract basis. The Designer will support the team lead with the execution of physical and digital product documentation for Devices, focusing on packaging and the help center site. This role involves creating global technical and help center publications to meet customer needs throughout their learning journey, leveraging expertise to develop complex device install flows for a cohesive user education experience at scale.

About the role

You are an organized self-starter with experience working on established and successful global design systems in a scale-up environment. You bring expertise in layout, typography, and press constraints to support complex device user education and manufacturing needs. As an effective collaborator, you communicate and escalate blockers to ship products on-time and on-brief. Above all, you are focused on solving real problems for real people through design and iteration.

Responsibilities

• Design device user education assets for global technical and help center publications.
• Maintain design guidelines for international regions to streamline and standardize product documentation.
• Support the preparation of printed materials for press, working with production to verify proofs and confirm file accuracy.
• Work closely with interdependent cross-functional teams.
• Meet all team deadlines and responsibilities by listening to others and valuing opinions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related design field or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of professional experience.
• An online portfolio demonstrating success in effective user-centered design solutions.
• 4+ years of experience building out templated design systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of human-centered design principles and practice.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to listen, synthesize feedback, present, and sell-through ideation.
• Ability to multitask and complete projects on time by staying organized and efficient.
• A complete understanding of all visual communications including typography, layout, and photo direction, as well as the ability to work with content strategy to create distinct solutions that solve for the user experience.
• Illustration and Cinema 4D skills a plus.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $85.00/hr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on factors including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, and internal equity.
