About the role
Efficiently operates packaging lines according to established procedures and customer specifications, while meeting all quality standards. Oversees the activities of associates assigned to a specific packing area/product.
Responsibilities
- Package product into bags, boxes, or totes per customer specifications.
- Document quality checks and enter into the system.
- Read and disseminate information on product specifications and packaging requirements.
- Assist in training new associates and cross-training backup associates.
- Pull product samples and test product mix, labeling, and/or weight against specs.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and quality guidelines.
- Perform all duties of Packaging Operator II.
- Maintain housekeeping duties around packaging equipment and in the warehouse.
- Responsible for lockout/tagout of equipment when clearing jams or performing basic maintenance.
- Perform basic adjustments to operating equipment to maintain finished product conformity to specs.
Requirements
- Ability to work the specified shift.

- Ability to read, understand, and follow directions/instructions.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb, and/or sit frequently or through the duration of the shift.
- Able to operate various office equipment as needed.
- Able to perform simple math calculations.
- Able to identify and locate product which requires reading, counting, and printing.
- Able to operate spreadsheet software applications.
- Able to operate word processing applications.
- Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with associates and/or customers.
- Able to interpret material.
- Able to write numeric and alphanumeric characters.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferred.
Pay
$19.85 per hour
