Packaging Operator I

About the role

Package a variety of products according to customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Review Work Orders to determine packaging requirements.
• Visually inspect product for defects and transfer defective items to the appropriate location.
• Manual weighing and counting of product.
• Load product into packaging machines.
• Monitor machines for proper function.
• Unload and visually inspect packaged product to ensure it meets quality standards.
• Place packaged product into boxes.
• Apply identification labels to boxes.
• Accurately complete departmental paperwork.
• Participate in safety and health program activities including immediately reporting hazards, immediately reporting unsafe work practices and incidents to supervisors, wearing required personal protective equipment, and participating in and supporting safety committee activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Schedule

1st Shift - Monday - Thursday - 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (based on business needs and job completions which could include overtime both during the week and on weekends).

Work environment

Packaging - Bagging. Fast-paced up to 8 hrs/day. Exposure to loud noise. Functional vision and hearing required. May participate in HCP.

Physical demands

Packaging - Hand Light, lifting up to 50 lbs.
