Main Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot multiple types of packaging equipment.
  • Equipment may include, but is not limited to: Carton erectors, Partition inserters, Production inserters (MPV, VPM, PLU), Foil dispensers, Top closers, Palletization equipment.
  • Manual responsibilities include: Loading, building, and making boxes, Hand packaging of bottles, Loading labels.
  • Maintenance includes: Performing routine cleaning, and minor maintenance of equipment to ensure smooth operations.
  • Material handling: Loading/unloading packaging materials such as corrugate, containers, or other raw materials.
  • Documentation: Accurately document records of finished goods, packaging specifications, or any visual quality checks.
  • Perform changeover's of divers packaging equipment (eg case erector, partition inserter, top sealer, ...).
  • Applies correct labels.
  • Performs quality check consisting of visual inspection of overall product, labels, and packaging integrity for defects.
  • Housekeeping.
  • Performs autonomous maintenance.

Performance Metrics

  • Labeling Accuracy: Maintains a labeling accuracy rate of 100% by consistently following all labeling procedures without deviation.
  • Quality Control Compliance: Performs all required quality checks with 100% completion and accuracy, identifying and reporting any defects per standard operating procedures.
  • Line clearance accuracy.
  • Autonomous maintenance completion.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Min. 6 months of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Capable of lifting 55 pounds and to stand for a minimum of 12 hours.
  • Able to work with multiple types of equipment simultaneously.
  • High cleanliness standards for the machines and work area.

  • The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. Frequently lift and/or move up to 38 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move or push/pull up to 55 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job included close vision.
  • It is required to act in a safe environmentally responsible manner at all times by adhering to all ALPLA policies and procedures and Safety Standards (OSHA).
