About the role

ISP Chemicals LLC is seeking a Packaging Operator to join their Ashland LLC, Specialty Ingredients business at their Calvert City, Kentucky location. This role is visible and significant within the company and the manufacturing function.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe and environmentally compliant packaging of liquid and powder products.
  • Comply with all plant safety rules and report incidents to immediate supervision.
  • Work with Production First Line Leaders and other plant support personnel to package products.
  • Perform product packaging and drumming activities ensuring customer specifications are met or exceeded.
  • Handle waste materials and prepare containers for staging and labeling.
  • Clean up powder rooms, drumming lines, and warehouse areas.
  • Prepare drumming equipment for maintenance.
  • Attend SHE meetings and participate in safety initiatives.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives.
  • Comply with Ashland and Calvert City plant policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Participate in company and regulatory training.
  • Perform routine material handling tasks.
  • Inspect storage tanks as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or equivalent required.
  • High level of mechanical aptitude.
  • Effective team member, communicator, and basic computer competency.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, holidays, and overtime.
  • Ability to wear and properly utilize personal protective equipment.
  • Physical requirements: walking, bending, reaching, climbing, moving pallets, lifting up to 550 lbs., maneuvering and rolling containers, and climbing storage tanks.

Preferred Skills

  • Chemical Operator certificate or degree.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
