About the role

Blue Point Brewing Company is hiring a Packaging Operator to join its team. This entry-level manufacturing position involves operating equipment in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate embodies the motto “work hard, play hard” and thrives in a team-oriented, dynamic setting.

Schedule

• One 2nd shift position: 9 AM – 7 PM, Monday–Thursday (shift hours subject to change based on business need).
• Initial training: Day shift (7 AM – 3 PM, Monday–Friday).
• 6% shift differential for hours worked between 10 PM – 6 AM.
• Overtime, nights, weekends, and rotating shifts may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate high-speed beverage manufacturing equipment (fillers, packers, labelers, depalletizers, palletizers).
• Cross-train in other areas/departments as needed.
• Perform quality checks throughout production runs.
• Conduct daily and weekly cleaning in the department.
• Handle raw materials, chemicals, packaging, and finished goods.
• Spot and remove damaged products or supplies.
• Manage production, package, and flavor changeovers per the packaging schedule.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs to ensure efficient equipment operation.
• Use reaction plans to address production issues.
• Maintain daily records of downtime and machine operations.
• Follow SOPs, safety guidelines, HACCP, and food safety protocols.
• Participate in problem identification and root cause analysis.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and promote a healthy, safe working environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (higher education a plus).
• Previous manufacturing experience in food and/or beverage industry preferred.
• Knowledge and passion for craft beer.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
• Self-directed attitude with adaptability to changing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• High sense of urgency in responding to production issues.
• Good mechanical aptitude; comfortable with basic hand tools and equipment troubleshooting.
• Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of the shift, including stooping, crawling, and crouching.
• Lift and carry items up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Push/pull items up to 100 pounds frequently.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs.

Pay

• Hourly rate: $20–$23/hour (DOE).
• 6% shift differential for eligible hours.
