About the role

The Packaging Operations Manager role has a national salary range of $72,000 - $85,000. For roles within California the range is 75,000 to $95,000 and Washington is $77,968.80 to $95,000.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an Operational Leader with an eye for continuous improvement, secondary packaging and postponement production.
• Support General Manager and engineering team with financial, project, and monthly reporting.
• Manage the supervisors to drive efficiency through production and planning.
• Communicate to team members production plan/status via start-up and pacing meetings.
• Set up relevant training and development for direct reports i.e. Leadership Standard Work or Lean Manufacturing.
• Manage production planning and ordering of supplies and equipment as needed.
• Oversee efficiency tracking and labor planning.
• Communicate any concerns or call-outs with customer, as necessary.
• Assess project and resource needs.
• Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
• Ensure health and safety regulations are met.
• Identify, anticipate, and remove operational bottlenecks.
• Drive continuous improvement via 5S and 8 waste elimination training.
• Work with vendors and suppliers to maintain (WIP) work-in-process inventory.
• Provide reporting on production, safety, quality, and any other reports as needed.

Qualifications

• Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, preferred
• 3 years’ industry experience in Primary Packaging, Secondary Packaging, Custom Packaging, Manufacturing or related businesses and/or operations, required
• 2 – 4 years’ management experience in a supervisory / management role, required
