Packaging Operator II

About the role

Coordinates the team to ensure an efficient and effective meat packaging process. Responsibilities include loading product into bags and machines, receiving finished product, packing meat in boxes, billing through the system, sealing, labeling, and stacking finished product on pallets or carts. Understands job tickets to pick and assign appropriate product for order fulfillment. Assembles boxes, cleans the packaging area and equipment, and maintains Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality standards to support smooth production flow.

Responsibilities

• Review work schedule, perform safety checks on equipment, obtain necessary supplies, and prepare for operations.
• Secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.
• Check cutting lists/tickets and obtain appropriate packaging materials (boxes, labels, tape, bags, wrap) using a pallet jack.
• Manually assemble boxes and cases, create labels, and fill packaging equipment with appropriate film as required.
• Perform general housekeeping duties, clean the packaging work area and equipment, and maintain safety and quality regulations.
• Coordinate the team’s efforts to ensure an efficient and effective packaging process.
• Troubleshoot simple machine issues and coordinate tooling changeovers based on packing needs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 0–6 months of relevant experience.
