Packaging Line Operator

About the role

Full-time position on the 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment (filling, capping, labeling, forklift, palletizer, packaging) in a safe and efficient manner
• Move pallets and materials from/to the line and warehouse
• Learn and understand the production schedule and issue material for production
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform minor maintenance
• Perform line changeovers, including changing parts and pieces to switch between products
• Adhere to all safety rules and regulations, including food safety policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
• Minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility
• Ability to perform physical job duties, including bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
• Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
• Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions (heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc.) with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic experience troubleshooting mechanical components and systems
• Experience working in a production environment
• Experience with SAP or a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Inventory systems knowledge
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous forklift operating experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, with emphasis on Excel and Word

Pay

$27.00 per hour
