Packaging Coordinator - Plymouth, IN

About the role

This position is responsible for safely and effectively setting up and maintaining the packaging areas. It involves adhering to Pretzel's GMPs, maintaining daily cleaning checklists, communicating with supervisors, PMO's, and packers, and following schedules and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain SSOP compliance and set up the packaging area safely and effectively
• Communicate with supervisors, PMO’s, and packers regarding changeovers, special labels, CHEP pallets, etc.
• Follow schedule priority according to line sheet and understand S4 Hana
• Follow WIP procedure, assist quality with hold procedures, and assist with repacking as needed
• Ensure no damaged cases leave packaging room and pull finished product to the wrapper or warehouse staging area
• Refill Zebra printers with labels and ribbon, load jobs into computer for Zebra printer, and verify with lead label
• Set up bulk lines accordingly to lead label, color bags, boxes, etc.
• Avoid overruns on shift and communicate overrun status to supervisor
• Print and apply license plates to skids
• Continually work on housekeeping and follow safety rules and policies

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• 1-month related experience or training
• Proficiency of the English language (read, write, and speak English)
• Basic math skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

• Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization
• Physical demands: Occasional lifting and moving up to 10 pounds, frequent lifting and moving up to 25 pounds, and occasional lifting and moving up to 50 pounds
• Stand, walk, climb, and reach with both hands and arms, bend and twist
• Able to lift with both hands and lift overhead with both hands
• Agility of both hands and all fingers to push, pull, grasp, touch and feel
• Visual acuity and hand/eye coordination
• Talk/communicate and hear

Skills

• Knowledge of Pretzel's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

Pay

Starting at $21.16/hr
Night shift has $1.00/hr shift differential

Schedule

Day and Night shifts available
12-hour shifts: (6am-6pm or 6pm-6am)
2-2-3 schedule: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off rotation
