Job Summary
The Packaging Cell Operator will routinely perform the following functions:
- Count and mark packages according to work instructions and customer requirements, ensuring items are not damaged, proper paperwork is provided and transactions are entered into ERP System.
- Prepare finished goods for shipping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures that all processes are followed according to job routers, process specifications, engineering change orders (ECO’s), and standard work procedures in a safe operating manner.
- When in doubt, stops and asks cell coordinator, supervisor or manager for assistance.
- Sets up and performs all quality checks and inspections.
- Performs and records all material transactions and labor reporting accurately.
- Uses the inventory tracking tools and labels all products to process specifications.
- Transacts inventory at the appropriate stage of the process, where applicable.
- Buys inventory discrepancies forward to the cell coordinator, supervisor or manager and helps investigate and resolve.
- Reports all non-conforming products to the cell coordinator, supervisor or manager.
- Accurately fills out the NCR form for all non-conforming materials and places it in the assigned non-conforming materials area.
- Ensures the work area is clean and organized to 5S standards and that a professional pass down is given to the oncoming shift operator.
- Helps to build and foster teamwork across all shifts by treating everyone with respect and dignity.
- Maintains a professional, positive attitude while at work.
- Is active in providing ideas and supporting process improvements that enable the cell to grow upon its annual goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Willing to learn new tasks or job responsibilities.
- Flexible to meet business needs across all cells.
More Advanced Operators
- Should be able to independently solve complex problems.
Education and/or Experience
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- A minimum of 3-6 months sustained employment in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

- Outsource Packaging
- Panel Inspection and Packaging
- Circuit Packaging
Other Skills and Abilities
- Can read part prints and use or become qualified to use various specialized tools (Forklift and Powered Industrial Trucks, Barcode Scanner, Foil Thickness Gauge, Scale, Vacuum Packaging and Shrink Wrap Machine).
