Package Handler - 3rd Shift

About the role

The Package Handler at DHL eCommerce will efficiently process and sort mail and parcels, adhering to strict quality and accuracy standards. This role requires a dynamic, fast-paced environment and a commitment to maintaining consistent performance.

Responsibilities

• Sort and process all incoming mail and parcels, aligning with designated area requirements and maintaining high-quality standards.
• Maintain sorting and processing targets by meeting or exceeding them consistently.
• Inspect each piece of mail to ensure labels are affixed correctly and the zip codes match.
• Operate sorting machinery, including loading cardboard boxes and bins, and place mail/parcels onto conveyors.
• Scan labels and manage workstation operations.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
• Be flexible to adapt to different operational areas as needed to support the business.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, with related experience preferred.
• Ability to listen actively and execute verbal instructions effectively.
• Proficiency in sorting alphabetically and numerically.
• Understanding of basic mathematical processes such as counting, addition, and subtraction.
• Strong ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and maintain consistent performance over extended periods.
• Effective collaboration with colleagues to achieve common goals.
• Physical demands include walking, pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs., reaching overhead, squatting, bending, kneeling, lifting, using a pallet jack, and exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and lighting conditions.
