PACK SHED MANAGER

Job Description

Common Hands Farm is hiring a pack shed manager. Starting pay is $20/hour (or more depending on previous farm experience!) and full-time (roughly 40 hours weekly). We are Certified Naturally Grown (same standards as USDA organic!) and moving into our 14th season of production with a CSA, farmers markets, farm store, and wholesale customers. We grow over 200 crop varieties.

Responsibilities

• Works in tandem with harvest management to plan the harvest for wholesale orders
• Takes inventory of the walk-in cooler and organizes it
• Washes and processes our 200 different crop varieties (with a helper!)
• Packs and stores orders
• Stocks our small farm-store daily and helps customers as they have questions (it’s self-service most of the time)
• Aids CSA members when they come to the farm to grab their CSA share
• Assists with creating an efficient, productive, and warm & welcoming environment in the pack shed, walk-in cooler, and farm store by assisting our diverse produce through the end of their time at our farm and helping transition this healthy, nourishing, and fresh food to one of our many outputs for sales!

Requirements

• At least 1 year of farming or related experience with food
• Able to lift 50 lbs
• A clear communicator and enjoys some basic levels of customer service
• Detail oriented and efficient at creating systems
• A passion for local food systems
