About the role
As a Production Operator, you will be working within the barn. On average, a barn houses around 100,000 hens or pullets (pre-laying age hens) and operators are responsible for the health and welfare of these birds. As is typical, hens will fly, fluff, cluck, poop, eat, peck and lay eggs all of which leads to a dusty environment. Lighting and ventilation are used to assist with the behavior and comfort of the birds. Headlamps are worn by the operators to help assess the status of the birds. Heated floors ensure warm, comfortable conditions for the birds and the workers.
