PA/NP – Epilepsy – Grand Rapids, MI
About the role
Corewell Health's department of neurological health in Grand Rapids, Michigan offers an excellent full-time opportunity for a physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join their exceptional epilepsy team. As an important member of the epilepsy section, you would be responsible for evaluating new patients as well as following established patients in the practice. The ideal candidate would be passionate about this patient population and have some initial neurology training. This position will join the neurology department's multispecialty clinic on the northeast side of Grand Rapids to offer patient epilepsy care in a suburban setting at 275 Michigan.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate new patients and follow established patients in the practice.
- Collaborate with the care team to effectively communicate results, treatments plans, and give guidance to patients and their caregivers.
- Communicate with providers from other specialties to collaborate patient care.
- Document patient records and Epic Electronic Medical Record.
- Complete billable services such as but not limited to: E-Visits.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives for the Inboxology program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Nurse Practitioner: Required Master's Degree, 3 years of relevant experience, current, relevant clinical experience, previous experience functioning in a collaborative role as a Nurse Practitioner, LIC-Nurse Practitioner (NP) - State of Michigan, CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Physician Assistant: Required Master's Degree, LIC-Physician Assistant - State of Michigan, CRT-Physician Asst Certified (PA-C) - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS).
