About the role
The P6 Scheduler plays a key role in planning, coordinating, and monitoring project timelines and resources to ensure work is completed on schedule. Working closely with the Project Manager, field leadership, and project stakeholders, this role focuses on building and maintaining detailed Primavera P6 schedules, tracking installation progress, and proactively identifying and resolving schedule risks. The position offers the opportunity to support major data center or construction projects and contribute to continuous improvement of project processes.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to create and maintain comprehensive project timetables that effectively manage time and resources.
- Work onsite during the first six months to meet with general contractors, subcontractors, and field management to gather accurate scheduling inputs and updates.
- Manage workload distribution across the project schedule and monitor customer delivery and job installation progress to ensure milestones are met.
- Coordinate closely with Project Management, Leads, and Superintendents to develop and maintain a detailed calendar from project implementation through completion.
- Identify, anticipate, and analyze schedule disparities or risks, and either correct them directly or escalate issues to Project Management with clear recommendations.
- Provide the Project Manager with all necessary scheduling data and insights to support the creation of weekly and monthly project reports.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to accurately reflect scope, sequencing, and quality requirements in the schedule.
- Support the development and implementation of project process improvements, leveraging scheduling insights to enhance efficiency and predictability.
- Promote a positive, professional project culture and represent the company’s mission and values to employees, vendors, clients, and business partners.
- Prepare and deliver clear written and oral presentations on schedule status, critical path, milestones, and schedule impacts to project stakeholders.
- Learn and effectively use company project management systems and tools in conjunction with Primavera P6.
- Perform additional scheduling and project support responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Primavera P6, including building, updating, and analyzing complex project schedules.
- Proven scheduling experience within data center projects or construction environments.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify schedule risks and develop practical mitigation strategies.
- Ability to effectively read and interpret blueprints, project specifications, reporting requirements, and quality standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and deliver oral presentations to project stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and professional approach, with the ability to work independently and lead others in adopting schedule-related process improvements.
- Ability to learn and work within company project management systems and related software tools.
Skills
- Familiarity with advanced Primavera P6 concepts such as critical path definition, CPM ratios, open-ended activities, and different levels of schedules.
- Experience working with ETS (Engineering Task Schedule) or similar scheduling structures.
- Knowledge of nodes, finished milestones, and the relationships that can be used on milestones within Primavera P6.
- Ability to select appropriate activity types to track both start and finish of key activities.
- Experience creating schedule summaries, including WBS or WDS summaries for reporting and executive review.
- Ability to provide detailed schedule updates in day-to-day activities, including progress, variances, and impacts on the critical path.
- Familiarity with using shortcut keys and productivity features within Primavera P6 to streamline scheduling work.
- Experience setting up resources in P6 and generating earned value reports, including determining total resource loading.
- Capability to build a project schedule from scratch, including establishing an ETS and defining the initial structure and logic.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $68.00/hr.
Schedule
This is a Contract to Hire position. The role requires substantial onsite presence during the first six months, working directly with general contractors, subcontractors, and field management in an active data center or construction environment. After this initial period, the position transitions to a reduced onsite schedule, with approximately 20% of time spent in the field.

The environment is fast-paced and project-driven, with a focus on safety, coordination, and clear communication among all stakeholders. You will work with Primavera P6 and company project management systems, collaborating closely with project teams in both office and field settings.
