Job Responsibilities

  • Identify radio programming needs through written request user contract related task or Client initiated change/requirement
  • Contact user to define and verify all requested changes
  • Develop prototype template for field-testing
  • Requests radio IDs and Talk group IDs for radio templates
  • Builds radio templates for Client radios in Metro region
  • Quality checks templates for accuracy and removes errors
  • Buils archives as required for distribution to field units for radio programming
  • Covers quality checks EAM and databases as required for accuracy of radio records
  • Supports Client field staff as required for programming of Client radios
  • Supports other technical areas of Client as required
  • Investigates issues related to Client radios operations on the system
  • Tests new programming software and provides field support for new programming software
  • Responds to requests for information regarding radio templates and associated records in EAM and databases
  • Performs routine paperwork and records in support of this position
  • Performs general housekeeping of work area

Required Certifications/Licenses

  • FCC General Radio Telephone License
  • APCO Certificate or approved equivalent

Must Have Skills/Attributes

  • Computer Literacy
  • Computer Operations
  • Database
  • Radiology Experience

Preferred Experience Knowledge Abilities And Skills

  • Military/Public Safety/Radio Communications (not Network)
  • Two-way radio experience
  • Previous P25 encryption experience/KMF (AES)

Job Description

This position is the recognized resource responsible for the development of radio programming files for distribution and installation into Client radios. The position is responsible to identify existing and request new Radio IDs, Talk groups and Encryption for use in developing and building the templates installed into a client radio. This position requires the extensive use of computer skills, and this person must be able to accurately enter data into the radio programming files and associated asset management software (EAM) and databases. This person must function with minimal supervision and require minimal direction while performing these duties.

Pay

  • Min Hourly Rate($): 60.00
  • Max Hourly Rate($): 64.00
