P/T Sr. Technical Assistant/ High School Equivalency (HSE) Examiner

About the role
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Dean of Workforce Development, the Part-Time Senior Technical Assistant/HSE Examiner assists with the administration of the High School Equivalency (HSE) Examination. The incumbent receives instruction from the Testing Coordinator and assists in the administration of the New York State high school equivalency exam, performing related administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Administer the tests at scheduled times according to all applicable procedures, laws, and regulations.
- Prepare the exam setting and process test candidates.
- Communicate effectively with test candidates, considering their varied educational levels and backgrounds.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a nationally accredited college or university.
- Experience in teaching, training, counseling, or testing.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
- Able to work with colleagues within the organization and with external agencies.
- Effective communication skills.
- Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of non-traditional adult students, as these factors relate to equity-minded practice.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Experience working in an educational institution.
- Preferred: Prior experience as a test proctor.
Pay
$26.42 per hour. No benefits. This position is fully grant funded.
Schedule
The work schedule is Tuesdays and Thursdays, approximately 7 hours per day. Some evening hours required.
