P&P Supervisor#26-132**INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY**

Responsibilities

• Provides first-line supervision to a team of Probation and Parole Agents
• Maintains a professional communication network inside and outside the Department
• Participates in training county staff
• Promotes public relations within the county
• Maintains professional competence

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in social or behavioral science courses and experience in probation and parole work
• An associate’s degree and two (2) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted
• A high school diploma and four (4) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted

Preferred Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, sociology, education, counseling or other social/behavioral sciences, or a bachelor's degree which includes at least 15 credit hours in the aforementioned disciplines
• Completion of three (3) years’ experience in criminal justice, counseling, or related professional human service work
• A regular volunteer and participant in deployments and other special operational events

Additional Requirements

Certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council in accordance with 23-23-40 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976.

This is an entirely on-site, in-office position.
