Responsibilities
- Build a portfolio of business in alignment with a set budget expectation.
- Provide leadership in accordance with the company's vision, mission and values while providing direct supervision, training and guidance to the underwriting department.
- Maintain and conform to all underwriting guidelines for all company procedures, rate levels and underwriting authorities domestic and foreign.
- Be a part of strategic discussions regarding expansion into additional states and/or territories.
- Communicate effectively with the internal and external teams on accountability of goal setting and strategic sales initiatives.
- Generate a profitable portfolio with a focus on underwriting discipline and annual/monthly/yearly premium goals.
- Protect the core best practices to ensure alignment and execution.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years property and casualty underwriting experience is required with an emphasis on binding authority and brokerage underwriting.
- Experience in product development, distribution channel discussions/decisions, and territory expansion is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of additional property and casualty products is desired.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- P&C license not required, however is highly sought after, and eligible for reimbursement if obtained upon hire.
