Responsibilities

• Build a portfolio of business in alignment with a set budget expectation.
• Provide leadership in accordance with the company's vision, mission and values while providing direct supervision, training and guidance to the underwriting department.
• Maintain and conform to all underwriting guidelines for all company procedures, rate levels and underwriting authorities domestic and foreign.
• Be a part of strategic discussions regarding expansion into additional states and/or territories.
• Communicate effectively with the internal and external teams on accountability of goal setting and strategic sales initiatives.
• Generate a profitable portfolio with a focus on underwriting discipline and annual/monthly/yearly premium goals.
• Protect the core best practices to ensure alignment and execution.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years property and casualty underwriting experience is required with an emphasis on binding authority and brokerage underwriting.
• Experience in product development, distribution channel discussions/decisions, and territory expansion is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of additional property and casualty products is desired.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
• P&C license is not required, but is highly sought after, and eligible for reimbursement if obtained upon hire.
