About the role
Under the supervision of the Management team, the Overnight Supervisor provides daily direction to the Outfitters on the overnight shift within the retail store, to include: sales floor replenishment, merchandise presentation, seasonal resets, inventory management and price change execution.
Responsibilities
- Delegate tasks and work assignments to team members by giving clear and concise direction and follow up to ensure proper execution.
- Ensure adherence of all standard operating procedures and processes by team members, following up to provide training and guidance when needed.
- Maintain visual presentation standards including in-store signage, proper execution of merchandise directives and planograms, merchandise recovering/front facing and general daily recovery ensuring a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
- Ensure nightly replenishment of sales floor from backstock inventory, as well as new replenishment from the Distribution Centers and direct vendor deliveries.
- Support inventory management in partnership with the Inventory Control team by completing on-demand counts, empty peg scanning, pick requests, display integrities, etc. during off-peak business overnight.
- Support the Management team with coordination of all “Special Events”; maintenance of pricing and UPC integrity; determining proper assortments; accuracy of inventory; proper display, tagging, signing and pricing of all advertised items.
- Support the Management team in carrying out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies including training, planning, assigning and directing work, evaluating performance, and maintaining a positive work environment.
- Assist the Management team and Human Resources Representative to staff the department with “service” oriented associates; participate in interviewing and make recommendations for selection; coordinate training; consult with the Management team and give input on preparation of performance appraisals; prepare weekly work schedules; coach and motivate associates to promote positive customer relations and a productive team-oriented work environment.
- Ensure all breaks and lunches are provided for overnight Outfitters in accordance with all provincial and local regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Years of experience: 2-4 Retail Years Retail Experience
- Availability to work overnight shifts.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
- Ability to read and analyze certain reports.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from Managers, Outfitters, customers and the general public.
- Ability to conduct meetings and presentations to groups.
- Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, data-based management and inventory management systems.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, Outfitters, customers and with the Base Camp team.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly walks, stands, and works on a computer.
- Occasionally sits and lifts up to 50 lbs.
Pay
Starting Pay Rate: $23.00 - $25.75
